Habit : | A shrub, erect, quite glabrous, branches hard, terete and smooth. | Leaves : | Petioled, membranous, oblong or ovate-lanceolate caudate-acuminate, 5-nerved, base acute or subacute, 7.5 - 12.5 by 1.25 - 5 cm., nerves slender, alternate, bases rather distant; petiole 0.63 - 1.25 cm.
| Spikes : | Slender, peduncle equaling the very short fruiting-spike, style elongate. Female spikes 1.25 cm. or less, peduncle slender; bracts peltate.
| Fruits : | Few 0.25 - 0.31 cm. diam. globose, styles slender equalling their diameter. |
