Introduction
Tomato aspermy virus (TAV) is a plant pathogenic virus of the family Bromoviridae that infects chrysanthemum and gladiolus in India.

Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Haryana, Delhi, Karnataka, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.
Particle Morphology
Isometric particles of 30 nm diameter.
Transmission Method
Transmitted by mechanical inoculation and aphids Myzus persicae and Aphis gossypii non-persistently.
Detection
ELISA and RT-PCR.

Gladiolus grandiflorus | Severe mosaic, chlorotic ringspots and flower deformation. |
Cucumis sativus | Severe mosaic, chlorotic ringspots |
Chrysanthemum | Mottling and deformed flowers with colour breaks and mottled leaves, flower distortion and depression on ray florets. |
