Carnation ringspot virus

Introduction

Carnation ringspot virus (CRSV) is a plant pathogenic virus belongs to the genus Dianthovirus and occurs naturally only in species of Caryophyllaceae, but can be transmitted experimentally to other species.

Particle Morphology

An RNA-containing virus with isometric particles about 30 nm in diameter.

Transmission Method

Transmitted by a vector Longidorus elongatus(nematode) and by mechanical inoculation; transmitted by contact between plants; not transmitted by seed.

Detection

ELISA and RT-PCR were used to identify the presence of virus.
