Introduction
Carrot red leaf virus (CtRLV) is a plant pathogenic virus infecting plants belonging to Umbelliferae, Chenopodiaceae and Solanaceae. Carrot motley dwarf virus is one of the strain.

Utter Pradesh and throughout India where the plants are cultivated.
Particle Morphology
A virus with RNA-containing isometric particles 25 nm in diameter.
Transmission Method
Transmitted by a vector Cavariella aegopodii (Aphididae) in a persistent manner. Not transmitted by mechanical inoculation and not transmitted by seed.
Detection
RT-nested PCR method is used in detection of virus.

| Anethum graveolens (dill) | Chlorosis or reddening of older leaves, but mostly symptomless. |
| Anthriscus cerefolium (chervil) | Severe yellow mosaic, mottling, and reduction in leaf size and number of flowers |
| Coriandrum sativum (coriander) | Severe yellow mosaic, mottling, and reduction in leaf size and number of flowers. |
| Anthriscus sylvestris (cow parsley) | Severe yellow mosaic, mottling, and reduction in leaf size and number of flowers. |
| Amaranthus caudatus cv. | Chlorosis or reddening of older leaves, but mostly symptomless. |
| Chenopodium amaranticolor | Severe yellow mosaic, mottling, and reduction in leaf size and number of flowers. |
| Nicotiana tabacum L. (bidi tobacco) | Chlorosis or reddening of older leaves, but mostly symptomless. |
