Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus

Introduction

Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV) is a plant virus belongs to the genus Tobamovirus. It infects many cucurbitaceous crops in India. Tobacco mosaic virus watermelon strain-W, Cucumber virus 3, Cucumber virus 4, Bottlegourd Indian mosaic virus, Cucumis virus 2 are few virus strains commonly seen.

Particle Morphology

Virus particles are rigid rods measuring 300 x 15 nm.

Host	Symptoms
Cucumis sativus	Yellowing, stunted growth, blistering, mosaic mottling, chlorotic spots, necrotic lesions and leaf cupping.
C. anguria (gherkin)	Chlorotic local lesions and mosaic.
Chenopodium amaranticolor	Chlorotic local lesions and mosaic.
