Dasheen mosaic virus (DsMV) is pathogenic plant virus which infects members of the family Araceae.

Particle Morphology

Flexuous, filamentous particles of 750 x 12 nm.

Transmission Method

Transmitted by a vector Aphis craccivora, A. gossypii, Myzus persicae in a non-persistent manner. Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation; transmitted by grafting; not transmitted by contact between plants and not transmitted by seed.

Detection

Immunosorbent electron microscopy (ISEM), ELISA, RT-PCR, IC-RT-PCR and nucleic acid hybridization.
