Introduction
Datura distortion mosaic virus belongs to the genus Potyvirus. The virus was first reported in Datura metel from Maharashtra State, India.

Particle Morphology
Flexuous filamentous particle of 770 x 11 nm.
Transmission Method
Transmitted non-persistently by Aphis craccivora and Myzus persicae. Virus is also sap transmitted but not by seed.

DAS-ELISA method is used in detection of virus.
