Lily symptomless virus

Introduction

A virus widely distributed in commercial stocks of lilies. Lily curl stripe virus, Lily virus, Lily streak virus are few strains usually seen. In mixed infection with other viruses plant show severe mosaic, leaf deformation and stunting of plants.

Geographical Distribution

North India, and in Himalayan valley especially in Himachal Pradesh.

Particle Morphology

Flexuous filamentous viral particles measuring 640 x 17-18 nm.

Transmission Method

Transmitted by a vector Myzus persicae (Aphididae) in a non-persistent manner; Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation.
