Introduction
Mung bean yellow mosaic virus is a serious threat to the cultivation of grain legumes such as black gram, green gram, horse gram ,red gram, cowpea, moth bean, soybean etc. It is wide spread in India and other countries. Many variants of the virus casing different symptoms are reported. These are plant viruses which have single-stranded circular DNA genomes.

Particle Morphology
A virus with geminate particles, 30 x 18 nm, containing two species of circular single-stranded DNA.
Transmission Method
Transmitted by a whitefly vector Bemisia tabaci in a persistent manner. Virus not transmitted by mechanical inoculation; not by seed.
