A new virus namely Ginger chlorotic fleck virus (GCFV) with possible affinities to sobemovirus in ginger imported into Australia from many countries including India.

Particle Morphology

Isometric particles about 30 nm in diameter

Transmission Method

Major spread is through infected rhizomes, vector unknown.

Detection

So far only based on symptoms as exact causal virus is not yet determined.

Ginger Chlortoc flecks, mosaic, mottle on leaves
