Introduction

Peanut green mosaic virus (PeGMV) pathogenic plant virus infects usually plants of Fabaceae, Solanaceae, Chenopodiaceae, Aizoaceae and Pedaliaceae families. This is also known as peanut chlorotic mottle virus. First reported in Arachis hypogaea from India.

Widespread in India.

Particle Morphology

Flexuous, filamentous particles of about 750 nm long.

Transmission Method

Transmitted by a vector Aphis gossypii, Myzus persicae, A. craccivora and Toxoptera odinae in a non-persistent manner. Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation; not transmitted by seed.
