Introduction

Chickpea bushy dwarf virus (CpBDV) is a plant pathogenic virus belongs to the genus Potyvirus infects Cicer arietinum. It is also known as Chickpea bushy stunt virus. The virus is transmissible to 14 species of Chenopodiaceae, Leguminosae, Solanaceae and Malvacea.

Particle Morphology

Virions are usually flexuous filamentous particle of 710±10 nm long.

No vector identified; it is sap-transmissible.

Detection

Host Range and Symptomatology

Cicer arietinumBushy appearance at the apical region, due to proliferation of terminal branches with narrowed, reduced and deformed leaflets.
Chenopodiaceae, Leguminosae, Solanaceae and Malvaceae plantsBushy appearance at the apical region.
