Procedure / Summary :

Application of talc based Trichoderma formulations (Phyto1 to 15) as seed treatment @ 10g/kg of seed + Seedling dip @ 20g/l + soil application @ 2.5kg/kg enriched through FYM (50g/5kg) were found effective in managing the wilt disease on both tomato and chilli. Similarly seedling dip with aqueous extracts of datura (10%) and garlic (10%) were also found effective in managing the fusarial wilt. Also among the fungicides, Carbendazim 12% + mancozeb 63% applied through seed treatment @ 2g/kg of seed + seedling dip @ 2.5g/l + soil drenching @ 2.5g/l was found effective in controlling the wilt disease on tomato and chilli. In addition to disease control, treatment with bioagents increased the yield compared to control significantly.

Applications

Useful to manage the Fusarium wilt disease of tomato and chilli under field condition

Advantages

The technology developed is more effective in suppressing the disease under field condition and cost effective
