Procedure / Summary :

Cow dung (50Kg) + deodar saw dust (2kg) + wheat bran (2Kg) + molasses (1Kg) were mixed together (~60-65% moisture contents) and inoculated with fungal BCAs grown on wheat bran (5packets of half Kg)/ talc based formulation (2%). Covered with moistened gunny bags and kept under shade for 20 days before being used. Alternatively, fungal BCAs were mass multiplied on sugarcane baggasse: sugarcane waste (50Kg) + wheat bran 5 Kg + molasses (500g) were mixed together ((~60-65% moisture contents) and inoculated with fungal BCAs grown on wheat bran (5packets of half Kg/2 percent talc based formulation. Covered with moistened gunny bags and kept under shade for 20 days before being used. It was mixed with 500 Kg cow dung and kept for 10days before being added in the soil. Its application @10 kg/ plant was done thrice during April, June and August increased the shoot growth by 36.7 cm as against 6.4cm in untreated apple plants. It provided 36.2 per cent lesion recovery in the infected plants.
