P.citrophthora was first isoated from rotted lemons.P.citropthora is classified in Group II. Sporangia are extremely variable in shape; ellipsoid, broadly ovoid, globose, limoniform or extremely distorted with prominet papillae. Sporanjia are mostly persistent and not caducous. Antheridia are amphigynous and oogonoa are globos. Optimun growth temprature is 24-28 degree Celsius.
